Abide Abide
Yet another day where I’m measured by
Competent work and doing right
Where love is earned and gifts deserved
So now I turn to what I have learned:
Of a gracious God who deeply loves
For who we are not what we’ve done
There’s rest from stress and healing when
I bask in love and grace with Him
So Abide, Abide. I’ll abide.
I’ll spend time with you today.
Abide, Abide. Yes, I’ll abide.
We grow closer when I pray.
My hurt and shame just fades away
When I spend time in what you say
The curse of sin runs deep within
But your love for me’s where I begin
So Abide, Abide. I’ll abide.
I’ll spend time with you today.
Abide, Abide. Yes, I’ll abide.
We grow closer when I pray.
Try as I might, I’ll lose the fight
When I only dwell on performing right
’Cause change within happens when
I’m at your feet and I’m listening
So Abide, Abide. I’ll abide.
I’ll spend time with you today.
Abide, Abide. Yes, I’ll abide.
May I be close to you always.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. — John 15:9 (ESV)
