(To the rhythm of “Hush, Little Baby”)

Hush my baby don’t you cry
Daddy’s gonna sing you a lullaby
It’s a story few have heard
It’s about Jesus the Living Word

In the start he made all things
Including angels and human beings
But the first two turned to rot
When they fell for the serpent’s plot

God was saddened by their deed
They ate from the good and evil tree
That was the start of human pride
For this trespass all should die

Yet God promised each one life
An end to suffering, an end to strife
First a payment should be made
For all sin done must be paid

That is done through sacrifice
In the form of Jesus Christ
Though we sin we now are free
Those that die live eternally

If they trust in God’s good grace
They’ll live with Him in the heavenly place
So hush my baby don’t you cry
God’s plan is better than a lullaby
